A lotta shakin going on...

A idea for a comic taking place at the new bridge being constructed at the Hoover Dam.
It revolves around two construction workers eating lunch when a earthquake* strikes, leading to a very strange rescue mission. xD

*the idea for the earthquake comes from the recent 2010 Baja California earthquake that was felt on the Mexico/California border, Arizona, and in the Las Vegas area as well. Whether or not it was felt near the Hoover Dam I don't know, but it gave me a reason for a Port-a-potty to fall off the bridge. xD

What do we have here?

You know you're in the southwest (or some desert part of the world) when you find a lizard in your office.

I came in this morning and there was this lizard behind my desk. I think he got in through the door thats in my office (the door leads out to an enclosed patio/porch).
So I scooped him up in copy paper box and took him outside. I dropped him off near some bushes behind the building. Maybe its just me but he didn't seem happy about me taking him outside. xD

Thundergods!

Today I herd thunder for the first time this year. Its strange because it sort of feels like someone just turned off Winter and started right on into Spring. It was some loud thunder too which was also surprising. So, to celebrate the first thunderstorm of the year I made this piece:

Its called "Vonce In A Thunderstorm." xD

Also, I finished another piece today. I posted some rough sketches a while back(http://blueguynow.blogspot.com/2010/02/devious-blog-entry-feb-2010.html) of my character Kratos and his giant friend Greg.

This was made so I could practice doing lighting and environments. Another goal was to use a "haze" to show distance, by having far away objects appear "faded." Thats why Kratos appears dark and vibrant while Greg seems a little dull or neutral (if that makes sense xD).

Its Mail Time Yet Again!

Time to play "What did BGN get in the mail today?" ;D

Wonder what he got today...

Why, its a Blurr and a Kimahri!

These were made buy the wonderful WhittyKitty on DeviantART (http://whittykitty.deviantart.com/). Me and my sister commissioned WhittyKitty to make us some plush toys. My sister ordered Blurr from Transformers Animated and I ordered Kimahri.

These are truly some wonderful pieces of art. I wish I could do something like this xD

I don't know about you but I'm as happy as a little girl! :D

Of Dragons & Lemons

What does BGN have for us today?

Lemons...

Here is a sketch of our favorite prime minister, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, enjoying a book along with Paresepe.

This sketch was sort of inspired by an older sketch made in 2006. It features Parr buying some lemons at a supermarket.

The lemons, and Ms. Suu Kyi for that matter, are all references to the band U2. BGN happens to be a big U2 fan so its no surprise that you will see U2 references in a lot of his work. Its not just in his work too, for example, in the description for the submission (on FA and DA) there are lyrics from the song "Walk On," a song dedicated to Ms. Suu Kyi.

On FA, the submission has a misleading thumbnail to lure in viewers.
